From Dufton to Dufton Pike - Circular
This is
a walk of about 5.5 miles and relatively going. Start at the park
adjacent to the public conveniencesin Dufton.Leave the car park,
turn left and the follow the road through the village towards Knock.
Just after the road turns right to leave the village and follow
the farm track which forks right.
This leads north with the Pennine Way joining from the right to
reach Coatsike Farm.
Continue north on the Pennine Way to Halsteads. Just beyond here
the track descends to cross Great Runsdale Beck and before the beck
take the right hand path and follow the beck upstream.
Youwill soon enter "Open Access" at a wall, and beyond
here go half right and head for the path which can be seen on the
hillside straight ahead.
This leads to the summit of Dufton Pike.
You can either return along the same route or by the route of ascent
back to the valley path above Great Runsdale Beck.
Turn right along the northern flank of Dufton Pike.
Reaching a track turn right and follow this back to Dufton.

| The Colne
Valley Circular Walk
This is a delightful 12-mile
walk which explores the countryside and character of the beautiful
Colne valley, having been shaped by the textile industry, canals
and other historic routes across the Pennines.
The route starts from the Colne Valley Museum in Golcar, makes its
way through Linthwaite and along the south side of the valley to
Marsden. Climbing out of Marsden it returns to Golcar along the
North of the valley.

Merrydale Circular
Walk - West Yorkshire
This short walk of 2.5 miles
from Slaithwaite to Merrydale and
Scout Wood (ancient woodland).
Slaithwaite is dominated by mill buildings, a Georgian Church
and the nearby 16th Century laithwaite Hall,
this is the setting for the fictional Skelthwaite in the TV series
" Where the Heart Is".

Marbury Circular
Walk- Cheshire
This 2.5 mile walk leaves the
village, passing the lane to the
church on your left.
Follow the first footpath on the left after the bungalows and cross
the fields to a lane.
Turn left up the lane known locally as 'Killcow Hill' because of
the steep
climb to Wirswal and Immediately after the first house on the left
turn
into a short trackway.
Cross the stile on the right and follow the path to the top of Wirswall
Hill.
Cross the stile onto the road and take the next footpath on your
left down the hill towards Big Mere.
Once you meet the road you can either turn left back into the village
or turn right and take the first footpath on your left which takes
you behind Little Mere, and then left back into the village.

of long distance walking and remember
that the weather can change very quickly.
Care should be taken on any walks, and in particular long distance ones,
be prepared, buy a map
and plan the route, and let someone know where you are planning to go.
If you take a dog on a long walk do make sure you know the dog is fit
enough to undertake such a walk and don't ask too much!
Your dog's safety is in your hands. Take plenty of breaks, carry water,
a first aid kit and poo bags.
