Alstonefield is located just inside Staffordshire with the Derbyshire border immediately to the east of the village following the course of the
River Dove. We are about 2 miles to the north of the attractive village of Alstonefield, nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
The cottages are fitted out to a very high standard. Kitchens are complete with electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, fully fitted cupboards, dining table, and have all the cutlery and crockery you will need. The sitting / lounge areas have ample seating including a sofa bed, TV, DVD, Freesat and Video. Bedrooms have standard size double bed or single beds, pine chest of draws and wardrobes, CD alarm clock radios. The main bathrooms have a shower over the bath, hand basin and wc. All cottages have central heating and constant hot water and we accept two dogs in each. Children are welcome. We are open all year and acccept Short Breaks. Ash and Beech Cottages both have an open coal fire for those winter, romantic evenings, and a four poster bed.

The regional towns are all within easy driving distance and provide an excellent range of shops and recreational opportunities. Derby, Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester are all within easy reach. There are many walks from the doorstep and easy access to all that the Peak District has to offer.

Badger Cottage
This lovely area is full of public footpaths, enabling visitors to take advantage of the beautiful countryside, and pretty conservation villages including Cressbrook, Tideswell
and Litton.

Butterfield Cottage is an 18th Century double fronted cottage, set on the edge of the village of Tideswell with its 7th Century origins. The cottage backs onto fields, has super rural views and is just five minutes walk from the village with a range of shops, pubs and tearooms. The sitting room has a Derbyshire stone fireplace with log burner, there is a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower over. There are two double rooms and a twin which benefits from an en-suite shower room and hand basin. The cottage was refurbished about a year ago
and is lovely.
Badger Cottage is located in Cressbrook, one of Derbyshire's prettiest conservation villages. This 18th Century, grade 2 listed cottage has lots of original character. In the heart of the village near the pub, it enjoys breath-taking views over Monsal Dale. It has just been refurbished and has a sitting room with Derbyshire stone fireplace and logburner, an oak fitted kitchen, downstairs bathroom with bath and shower over and an upstairs shower room with WC and hand basin, there are two double bedrooms and one with bunk-beds.
Bluebell Cottage is a pretty double fronted, 17th Century cottage, formerly a village Inn. It has been restored to a high standard retaining character and charm with beams and a stone fireplace housing a log burner. Nestled in a quiet street in the centre of Tideswell it is close to shops, tearooms and pubs. There is a beamed sitting room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower over. It has a family bedroom on two levels with
en-suite shower room, one double and a twin and a family bathroom with bath and shower over.
The cottages all have private gardens with secure areas for dogs.

Bluebell Cottage
The family double bedroom has steps leading to a galleried area and second double bed. This room has en-suite shower room. There is also a double and a twin bedroom as well as a single sofa-bed in the sitting room.

This 130-year-old quarry workers' cottage has been beautifully renovated and is in a lovely location opposite the village cricket green. Set out over three floors, the cottage has been furnished to a high standard, using a mix of rustic and contemporary furniture and fittings. The views from the cottage are stunning and with open countryside on the doorstep this peaceful retreat provides a great place for walkers, cyclists and climbers to holiday with their four-legged friends.
The ground floor has a welcoming entrance porch, sitting room with cosy wood-burning stove (perfect for dogs and owners alike to curl up in front of after a day outdoors) and a fully equipped dining kitchen. The first floor has a twin/super king bedroom and bathroom (four piece suite). Also on this floor there is a pretty single room. The second floor has an attic king bedroom, with some limited head height.
Buxworth, a small historic village with the ubiquitous pub and a church, lies within the region known as the High Peak or the Dark Peak, nine miles north-west of Buxton, a mile north-east of Whaley Bridge and a mile south-west of Chinley. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, there are scenic walks direct from the cottage so this is a great place to bring dogs.
The historic Bugsworth Basin and Peak Forest Canal are only a few hundred yards away as are the Peak Forest Tramway Trail and the Navigation Inn.

The attractive and sheltered rear garden faces almost due south and so gets the sun most of the day. There are lovely views from here and being in the Peak District means there are hundreds of options for great walks for you to enjoy.

Overbrook Barn is part of a beautiful 18th century farm in a quiet valley in the south-west corner of the
Peak District National Park.
Overbrook accommodates 8 in four double/twin bedrooms all of which have TV/DVD (all bed linen and towels are provided), there is a log-burning stove, and free wireless broadband internet throughout.
We have young children ourselves, and yours are very welcome. None of our livestock pose any danger to humans, Overbrook has its own lit, gated garden which is secure for children, and our access road is very quiet. We also have chickens, ducks, sheep, and often pigs:
a paradise for city children!
We have a friendly black lab and your pets are very welcome. Situated in the centre of a network of footpaths and bridleways the area offers some of the best walking and riding you'll find in the country. There is a great range of excellent dog walking from the doorstep, and plenty of room on farm for off-the-lead running around. There is a huge amount to do locally, along with super eating and drinking.
