Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our self-catering and pet friendly cottage conversions, set in peaceful Weardale countryside and overlooking the hills of the North Pennines. These traditional farm buildings have been sensitively converted into attractive sandstone cottages, offering a high standard of accommodation and modern facilities.

The Byre cottage has a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, kitchen/lounge on the ground floor. An additional two single beds are located on a mezzanine balcony above the lounge area. The Stables cottage has two en-suite bedrooms, one double and a family room on the ground floor with an open plan kitchen and lounge on the first floor.
For family holidays, Greenwell Hill Farm offers children the chance to see a real farm. Weardale is ideally located to access the scenic and historical sites of County Durham and Northumbria and is within a short distance of Hamsterley forest, Durham City, Beamish Museum, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. The surrounding countryside is a delight for families as well as cyclists, walkers, fishermen and birdwatchers.

We are based in Teesdale, close to Barnard Castle, and our 50 acre working farm is situated in a designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a site of Special Scientific Interest.

Our two cottages are converted byres and date back to the 1700's. Specially designed for people holidaying with dogs,
both sleep 4 people and up to 4 dogs are included free of charge, further dogs are welcome for a nominal charge.
Each has its own private garden, parking area and a 'dog shower room'. There is always a stock free field for exercising dogs as well as a chance to help out on the farm. We also have a fantastic purpose built 120 foot Indoor Agility Arena available for all year round use and offer on site AGILITY and SHEEPDOG TRAINING lessons. The farm itself sits just over 1000 feet high and is surrounded by fantastic walking country, with the Yorkshire Dales being only 30 minutes away and the Lake District one hour away.
